Exciting Initiatives in OIT

The Office of Information Technology is working in collaboration with departments across the University on these exciting initiatives and more.

Now

  • Reducing student registration time from 30 seconds to 10 seconds
  • Providing drop-in training every Friday from 2-5:00PM in Sullivan Hall
  • Presenting at new student orientation
  • Helping develop new 60- and 30-second TV spots
  • Preparing data for regulatory reporting and annual financial audit
  • Redesigning selected courses
  • Supporting launch of new academic program
  • Supporting the stu.edu website redesign initiative 

Summer

  • Launching 24/7 telephone support for students, faculty, and staff
  • Providing online syllabus search and retrieve
  • Improving the look and feel of the MyBobcat website
  • Moving a large display from the OIT office to an instructional area
  • Implementing monthly network and system vulnerability scanning
  • Deploying 27 new computers for Athletics (Fin Aid and Admissions previously done

Fall

  • Providing new-and-improved online instructor orientation
  • Providing new-and-improved online student orientation
  • Refreshing disk image for all academic computers

In October, Respondus is offering training sessions for LockDown Browser and Respondus Monitor. Each 45-minute webinar provides a live demo, plus tips to get started using these applications to deter cheating during online exams.
